The Indian Women Crush England’s Winning Streak: Bristol Breakthrough
The Indian women’s cricket team, led by Harmanpreet Kaur, is on the verge of winning the T20I series against England. India has taken a 2-0 lead in this five-match T20I series. Some batting masterclass from Jemimah Rodrigues and Amanjot Kaur took India over the line at Bristol. Before this, England women hadn’t lost a match at this venue. This was their first defeat. India has now won three consecutive T20I matches against England.
Openers fail but the middle order shines
The County Ground in Bristol is not known for big scores. England’s pacers troubled the top order with some good bowling. They were not giving room to one of the best opening pairs in the women’s game. Shefali Verma was the first player to get dismissed. Her innings was cut short by a good short ball from Lauren Filer. Smriti Mandhana scored her first ton in T20I cricket.

However, she failed to replicate her form in this match. The opener was dismissed on 13, thanks to a good catch by Lauren Bell. Indian captain Harmanpreet Kaur failed to deliver for her team. She added just a single before Bell got the crucial wicket. India were 31 for three in 5.1 overs.
The Indian Women: Outclass England
Jemimah Rodrigues and Amanjot Kaur are two of the best talents in Indian cricket. These two got the opportunity to showcase their talent. Jemimah has upgraded her game in the past. She has brought some power to her batting and often deals in boundaries.
Amanjot has just gotten into the Indian circuit and has had limited opportunities with the bat. These two handled the pressure very easily by rotating strike and hitting boundaries. The fourth wicket stand stood for 93 runs in just 55 balls. Jemimah scored her 13th T20I ton before getting dismissed on 63. Richa Ghosh added some firepower towards the end. The wicketkeeper batsman from Bengal added 32 runs in 20 balls.
Amanjot scored her first fifty and remained not out on 63. India posted 181 runs for the loss of four wickets. Bell was outstanding with the ball as she only gave away 17 runs and took two wickets.

England batters fail in massive chase
England women needed a spark at the start of the innings to chase this big total. Harmanpreet Kaur had four spin bowling options on a dry surface. Both opening batters failed to contribute. Sophia Dunkley was run out on one and Wyatt-Hodge followed her on the same score.
England lost their captain, Nat Sciver-Brunt on 13, and the hosts were 17 for three in 3.3 overs. The fourth wicket partnership between Tammy Beaumont and Amy Jones brought some spark to this chase. These two added 70 runs. Beaumont managed to score her 11th T20I ton, but that was not enough. She ran out of 54. Jones added 32 before getting out to Shree Charani. Sophie Ecclestone scored 35 towards the en,d but England fell short by 24 runs. Shree Charani was once again impressive with the ball as she gave away 28 runs and took two wickets.
