Liverpool Outclass Man United in 3-0 Victory at Old Trafford
Liverpool handed Manchester United another defeat with a 3-0 victory in the English Premier League. The Reds dominated Erik ten Hag’s side and maintained their 100% record in the league. Manchester United, on the other hand, lost back-to-back games.
Liverpool has a Winning Formation under Arne Slot
Liverpool came as the favourites into this match. Arne Slot made a great start to his time at the Merseyside club. His team won the first two matches. The manager started a strong team, with Alisson in goal. Andy Robertson, Virgil van Dijk, Konate and Trent Alexander-Arnold completed the back four. Alexis Mac Allister, Szoboszlai and Gravenberch started in the midfield. Diogo Jota led the attack along with Luis Diaz and Mohamed Salah.

The Reds made a bright start by taking an early lead. Trent Alexander-Arnold scored the first goal but was ruled offside. Mohamed Salah touched the ball in an offside position. VAR came to the rescue of the home team.

Liverpool capitalising on mistakes
Manchester United were looking decent but some individual mistakes led to their downfall. Around the 35-minute mark, the Red Devils tried to create a counter-attack. Casemiro provided the last pass but that landed in the feet of a Liverpool player and that too inside Man United’s half. Mo Salah received the ball and he crossed it with his weaker right foot. Luis Diaz and Szoboszlai were at the far post to convert the chance. The Colombian scored with his head to give Liverpool a 1-0 lead in the 35th minute.
In the 42nd minute, Casemiro came under pressure and lost the ball outside the penalty box. Liverpool capitalised on his mistake. Once again Salah created the goal and Diaz finished it in style. Arne Slot’s men led 2-0 in the first half.
Casemiro’s mistakes forced the manager to make changes to the midfield. Youngster Toby Collyer made his senior team debut. Liverpool had some other plans. They were focusing on scoring more goals.
Mo Salah sealed three-points
Mohamed Salah registered his name on the scoresheet in the 56th minute. Liverpool’s pressing was too much for Mainoo. He lost the ball and the Reds were on the counter. They extended their lead to three goals.

Manchester United created a few chances towards the end but failed to beat Alisson. Arne Slot tasted victory in the first North-West Derby. Liverpool sits second in the league with a 100% record. The Red Devils are in 14th place with just three points.
Some players will head to the international break, while other will remain at the club. Erik ten Hag is under pressure and needs some good results after the international break. Liverpool fans will be happy with their new manager and hope for silverware this season.
