Spain’s Sensational victory over Georgia in Euro 2024 RO16
Georgia’s incredible run in the UEFA Euro 2024 campaign came to an end after a heavy defeat to Spain. The Spanish side earned an impressive 4-1 victory and will face the host nation, Germany, in the quarter-finals. It was a thrilling match that ended in favor of Luis De La Fuente’s side.

Luis De La Fuente made changes to his team from their last group match, with Nico Williams and Lamine Yamal returning to the starting lineup alongside their skipper Alvaro Morata. The midfield command was given to Fabian Ruiz, Rodri, and Pedri, while Marc Cucurella, Aymeric Laporte, Robin Le Normand, and Dani Carvajal guarded Unai Simon in goal. The 16-year-old Barcelona youngster created Spain’s second goal with an incredible cross that Fabian Ruiz headed into the net in the 51st minute. Spain then caught Georgia on the counter to score their third goal. Nico Williams made a run from inside his half, and Ruiz’s pass found him for a powerful shot inside the penalty box. Dani Olmo scored the fourth goal, securing Spain’s place in the last eight.
