2018 World Cup winner Kylian Mbappe joins Real Madrid

Kylian Mbappe and his transfer saga with Real Madrid has finally ended. Recently, the Los Blancos announced that the Frenchman had agreed to join the newly crowned European champions ahead of the 2024–25 season.
The Spanish giants had already made attempts to sign the superstar. However, PSG managed to keep hold of him, and Mbappe extended his contract at the French club. In 2021, there were rumors about Mbappe’s desire to join the Spanish club. He stayed at PSG, but fans were a bit unhappy with him. At the end of the season, Mbappe extended his contract until 2025.
Real Madrid were unhappy with all the things that went through. They are a team known for signing star players. This rejection also created a bit of anger among the fans.
At the start of the 2023–24 season, there were rumors regarding a possible transfer. The Frenchman was looking for a possible exit from the French club. PSG was also planning to cash in on him. Everything ended, and Mbappe remained at the club.
PSG brought in a few players in the last two transfer windows to strengthen their squad. Luis Enrique was appointed as the new head coach. The former Barcelona and Spain manager was brought in to win the titles, especially the UEFA Champions League.
The club from Paris was able to win the Ligue 1 title once again. However, their dream of winning the European title was ended by Borussia Dortmund in the semi-finals. Mbappe was unable to create his magic on the field.
On May 10, 2024, the Frenchman made a huge announcement through his social media handles. Kylian Mbappe decided to leave PSG at the end of the 2023–24 season after joining them permanently from AS Monaco six years ago. This came as a shock to many, but it was a chance for Real Madrid to sign him for free.
Recently, Real Madrid confirmed that Mbappe is coming to Spain and will feature for the Los Blancos. This news brought joy to Madrid, who were celebrating their recent European triumph. One of the best in the world joined the other biggest talents in the sport.
Real Madrid’s new No. 9
Ever-since Karim Benzema’s departure, Real Madrid have been looking for a striker. Joelu was brought on loan, and he proved his worth by scoring crucial goals. Kylian has been handed the No. 9 jersey. He brings plenty of experience as well as goals to the Spanish club.
Kylian Mbappe won the FIFA World Cup 2018 and was the ‘Young Player of the Tournament’. The Frenchman also took his side to the 2022 World Cup final. Mbappe scored an impressive hat-trick in the final but was unable to take his side over the winning line.
At club level, the youngster won the Ligue 1 seven times and the domestic cup four times. Mbappe scored over 250 goals for Paris in just over 300 appearances.
These numbers are just a glimpse of what Mbappe can do on the field. He will join the likes of Vinicius Junior, Rodrygo, Jude Bellingham, and a few other stars. The Frenchman has a chance to create his own legacy.
