A star in the making: Vikram Partap Singh’s rise in Indian football

The 22-year-old forward moved to Mumbai City FC in 2020. He was born in Chandigarh and played for the Indian Arrows from 2018-2020. Since 2020, the youngster has been an integral part of Mumbai City FC squad.
Vikram Partap Singh has also represented his nation. He first represented the national team at U-17 level. He then represented the nation at the U-20 level as well as the U-23 level. In his first season in the Indian Super League, Vikram failed to cement a regular spot in the team. He represented Mumbai in 11 ISL matches and failed to score a goal. Vikram was offered more playing time in the 2021-22 season. He represented the club on 16 occasions in the ISL and scored three goals. This was a confidence boosting season for the young talent from the North.
The 2022-23 season gave Vikram Partap Singh some more opportunities on the field. He represented the club on 19 occasions in the league and made his debut in the AFC Champions League. The striker ended the season with two goals. He was not a regular starter in the league and struggled for game time.
Vikram has raised the level of his game in the current season. He already has represented the club 18 times in the Indian Super League and five times in the AFC Champions League. The forward has seven goals to his name and has even added two assists.
In 2024, the 22-year-old has scored six goals, including a hat-trick against NorthEast United before the international break. This was the first time that an Indian player had scored three goals in the match this season. Vikram is also the sixth Indian player to score a hat-trick in the ISL. His team is sitting at the top of the league after 19 games. Vikram Partap Singh also has a chance to win another silverware with the team.
