India Earns A Dominating Win Against England In Nagpur
India continued their dominance in the T20 series, starting the ODI series in style. Rohit Sharma and his team secured a four-wicket victory against Jos Buttler’s England. This three-match series serves as a crucial preparation before the upcoming ICC Champions Trophy.
India with Two debutants

Smashing start for openers
England is a hard-hitting team that likes to pressure the bowler by hitting big shots. Powerplay is a good opportunity for English batters to execute their plans. Phil Salt and Ben Duckett took full advantage of the fielding restrictions. The opening stand stood for 75 runs in 8.5 overs. Salt scored 43 runs in just 26 balls before getting run out. The wicket-keeping batsman smashed Rana for 26 runs in one over.
Rana & Spinners stops England batsman
After a good start, England were looking for a total. However, Salt’s wicket led to the downfall of England’s batters. Rohit introduced Harshit Rana after an expensive first spell. The fast bowler took two wickets in the 10th over.
Ben Duckett was caught by another debutant Jaiswal. Rana got his first wicket in the ODI. In the last ball of the same over, Harry Brook was sent to the dugout without troubling the score. He gloved the ball to KL Rahul behind the stumps. England were in big trouble as they lost two key batters.

Buttler & Bethell take charge
Jos Buttler was left in a spot of bother. Youngster Jacob Bethell got an opportunity ahead of Livingstone. Both players created a 59-run stand before Buttler got out. The English captain had posted 52 runs. Bethell continued to score but wickets were falling at the other end. He ended up scoring 51 runs. England were all out on 248 runs. Rana and Jaddu chipped in with three wickets each.
India recovers from early blows
Jaiswal and Rohit opened the innings but both failed to put in a good score. Archer got Jaiswal’s wicket for just 15 runs. Rohit only added two runs to the total.
Shreyas Iyer joined Gill in the middle. This partnership changed the course of the game. Iyer smashed 59 runs in just 36 balls. His innings changed the game in India’s favor. Axar Patel came in next after Iyer’s wicket. He also scored a fifty and his third in ODI cricket.

Shubman Gill orchestrated the chase by scoring 87 runs. India lost three late wickets but the match was under control. Jaddu and Hardik completed the chase with 68 balls remaining. India will now look to win the series in Odisha.
