England return to winning ways in 3rd T20I against India
England, after a poor start in the T20 series, have finally found their rhythm against India. Jos Buttler and his men won the third match convincingly to get back in the five-match series. India had won the toss. For the third time, England were batting first. This was their only chance to make a return and they did so. Here is a look at how England took the third game.

England: Salt fails but Duckett shines
India rested Arshdeep Singh and played Mohammed Shami in his place. England made no changes. Phil Salt’s struggle continued as he got out cheaply to Hardik Pandya’s ball. His failures in the three matches are a concern for England as well as for RCB. However, his partner Ben Duckett had some other ideas. He along with Jos Buttler created a 76-run stand for the second wicket. Duckett was the aggressor among the two. He scored 51 runs off just 28 deliveries. Buttler started decently but failed to convert his start.
Varun Chakaravarthy awarded with a fifer
The mystery spinner is having a series to remember. Five wickets in the first two matches were followed by a five-wicket spell in the third match. He took out the English captain first, who tried to reverse sweep but his edge found the keeper. Axar and Bishnoi took out Duckett and Brook respectively.
Varun’s second wicket came in the form of Jamie Smith in the 13th over. In the very next ball, he dismissed Jamie Overton. England were in all sorts of trouble. The spinner got two more in his next over. He dismissed Brydon Carse and Jofra Archer. England were 127 for eight at the end of 16th over.
Liam Livingstone looked confident as he smashed five sixes out of the park. The all-rounder scored 43 of 24 balls. England recovered well towards the end and posted 171 for the loss of nine wickets.
Early blows and loss of momentum
India knew that they needed to go hard at the English bowlers. Abhishek Sharma is hitting the ball clean and he continued his decent run with a 24-run cameo. Sanju Samson struggled to deal with Jofra Archer’s pace. His poor run in the series continued along with Suryakumar Yadav. Both players have struggled and got out cheaply. India were 48 for three in 5.1 overs.

Adil Rashid took out Tilak Varma with a peach of a delivery. His leg spin caught Tilak in the crease and he was unable to read the ball. The ball hit the stumps and India were 68 for four in eight overs.

Indian batters struggled to make their mark. Hardik Pandya stood in the middle but wickets were falling at the other end. Overton took three wickets for the away side. Archer and Carse were among the wickets. Pandya was unable to accelerate due to the loss of wickets. His innings ended with 40 runs in 35 balls. India fell short of the target by 26 runs. The series now stands at 2-1 in favor of the men in blue.
