Ruben Amorim tests bench strength
Ruben Amorim has made a lot of changes to the team since his arrival. The Portuguese manager is testing his players and trying to get the best out of everyone. He gave a chance to Altay Bayindir in goal. Leny Yoro, Victor Lindelof, Chrisitan Eriksen, and Antony were a few of the non-regular players to make it to the starting 11.

Tottenham Spurs take the lead into half-time
Both teams began the match with end-to-end stuff. Tottenham Hotspur usually plays a high line but looked a bit conservative in this match. They took the lead in the 15th minute through Dominic Solanke. Bayindir saved a shot from Porro but couldn’t force it wide. Solanke was the first player to capitalize and scored the opener. Manchester United created more chances but were unable to score.

Postecoglou’s men start the second half in style
It looked like Ruben Amirom’s half-time team talk did not affect Man United players after they conceded two more goals inside the opening 10 minutes of the second half. Dejan Kulusevski and Dominic Solanke were the goal-scorers. Spurs were flying high and Amorim made some changes to bring his side back into the game.

Fraser Forster’s errors brought Man United to life
Spurs were sailing past their opponents with a 3-0 lead. However, their goalkeeper had some other plans. Forster made a poor pass that was intercepted by Bruno Fernandes. The Portuguese helped Zirkzee to score his side’s first goal of the evening.
Seven minutes later, the goalkeeper held on to the ball long after receiving a back pass. Amad Diallo slid in and blocked his pass. The ball found the back of the net and Man United was just a goal behind.

Two late goals end the night
Tottenham Hotspur’s skipper Son Heung-Min extended his lead to two goals. The South Korean scored from a direct corner after Lucas Bergvall blocked Bayindir’s jump. The referee was happy with the players’ actions and there was no VAR to rule out the goal. Towards the end of the match, Jonny Evans scored a header from a corner but that wasn’t enough.
