Week 9 is being played at Pune and already 10 matches have been completed. Yesterday, the Haryana Steelers were up against the UP Yoddhas. This was followed by an encounter between two-time champions, Jaipur Pink Panthers, and a struggling Bengaluru Bulls side.
The Pro Kabaddi League: Bulls continue to struggle
Bengaluru Bulls are sitting at the bottom of the table. They had only won one match out of the 19 played. With 16 losses and one draw, the Bulls needed some miracle to overcome this poor run. Jaipur, on the other hand, had won 10 games and lost seven of the other nine played. They had a chance to move into the top five.
Jaipur had the upper hand in the match. They were the better team and that led to two all-outs for the Bulls. In the end, the Pink Panthers went on to win by 35-26. The Raiders were the difference makers for the inaugural season champions.
Arjun Deshwal steals the show
Jaipur’s Arjun Deshwal has carried the team in the last few seasons. He has been their go-to man in tight situations. The raider proved his worth and scored 17 points for his team. He scored almost half of the points scored by Jaipur.

Arjun collected 14 raid points and three bonus points. His other teammates only managed three points from raids. The rest of the points came from defensive players. Ankush chipped in with four tackle points and Ronak Singh contributed with three tackles. They stopped the likes of Ajinkya Pawar and Pardeep Narwal, who managed to score 11 raid points in total.
Bhavani Rajput outshines Shadloui
PKL 11 leaders Haryana Steelers hosted UP Yoddhas in the opening match of the night. Haryana has one of the best defenders in PKL’s history in the form of Mohammadreza Shadloui Chiyaneh. He has a different presence on the field.
However, Yoddhas had some other plans and proved to be the better team on the night. The leaders suffered their sixth defeat of the season after going down 24-31. UP Yoddhas were the better tea on the night, thanks to the four all-outs initiated by them.

Bhavani Rajput single-handedly won the game for his side. He scored 11 raid points, including a super raid. The rest of his teammates failed to score more than three points. Bhavani proved to be the match-winner.
Shadloui managed four tackle points on the night. Vinay chipped in with six raid points but failed to take his team over the line.
This win takes the Yoddhas up to third place in the table. Haryana is still at the top of the table after 15 wins in 21 matches.
