RCB registers first Victory at Chepauk against CSK since 2008
RCB finally breached the Chennai Super Kings’ fortress, ending their long wait for victory. Under the captaincy of Rajat Patidar, RCB defeated CSK at their home ground. RCB asked to bat on the new surface
CSK opted to bowl for the second time at home. They chased the target in the last match against the Mumbai Indians. This time the pitch was new, and CSK was hoping to restrict their opponent on a low total. Both teams had just one change. Pathirana and Bhuvi returned from their respective injuries.
Charge at CSK bowlers
RCB batters made full use of the conditions by taking charge at the bowlers. Phil Salt took charge at the early stage. Salt scored 32 runs in just 16 balls. Hazelwood was introduced in the powerplay and he provided the first breakthrough. MS Dhoni was quick behind the stumps. He gave no chance to Salt and the Englishman was stumped out.
Padikkal joined Virat in the middle. He took charge at the CSK bowlers and played a cameo of 27 runs. Kohli struggled to score and only managed 31 runs in 30 balls.

Struggles in CSK camp
RCB posted a total above par at the Chepauk Stadium. CSK batters had to take charge at the RCB bowlers. However, RCB had two of the best new ball bowlers in their lineup. Bhuvi opened the bowling with Hazelwood. These two troubled the batters with their length and swing.

Hazelwood took two wickets in the second over of the innings. Rahul Tripathi and Ruturaj Gaikwad were both caught on short ball. Hooda came and struggled a lot. Bhuvi dismissed him on four runs, leaving CSK at 26 for three in 4.4 overs.
Rachin Ravindra stayed at the crease but struggled to score runs against top-quality bowling. He was the highest run scorer with 41 runs. The rest of the batters struggled to make their mark in the match.
Josh Hazelwood ended his spell with three wickets and only gave away 21 runs. Yash Dayal and Liam Livingstone chipped with two wickets each. The fans also got the opportunity to witness MS Dhoni bat. He came in very late but played a cameo of 30 runs in 16 balls. With this win RCB remains at the top of the table, and CSK is down at seventh place.
