An incredible Test journey
Ravichandran Ashwin became India’s 271st cap in Test cricket. Nobody knew what he had in store for the national team with the red ball. Ashwin made his debut in 2011 against the West Indies. Nine wickets in the first game, including a five-wicket haul was enough for Ashwin to take the man of the match award.

In the third match of the series, Ashwin showed his class with the bat and scored his maiden ton for the national team. He became the third Indian to take five wickets and score a hundred in the same match.
Over the years, Ashwin took out the opposition batters with his magic. He registered 537 wickets in 106 Test matches, making him the seventh-highest wicket-taker with the red ball. Along with this, he scored 3,503 runs, and that included six tons. His contributions with both ball and bat make him one of the finest to represent India in any of the formats.
With 37 five-wicket hauls in Test cricket and 765 wickets across all formats, Ravi Ashwin leaves the international circuit with his head held high. He will continue to play in domestic cricket. Chennai Super Kings acquired his services ahead of the new IPL season.
