IPL 2025 in focus Time: Three Out, Seven Still Dreaming Of the Glory
IPL 2025 is reaching its thrilling final stages. Out of the 10 competing teams, three have already been eliminated, while seven still remain in the hunt for a playoff spot. To stay in contention, each team must secure at least eight wins to keep its hopes of advancing.
IPL 2025 Eliminated Teams
Three teams already know their fate. Chennai Super Kings opened their season with a win but were the first team to get eliminated. They are sitting at the bottom of the table with two wins in 11 games. Rajasthan Royals became the second team to get knocked out. Only three wins in 12 games leave them ninth in the table.

Sunrisers Hyderabad became the third team to get knocked out. Last season’s runners-up only had three wins in the first 10 games. They needed a win in the remaining four matches, but rain spoiled their hopes. A no-result against Delhi Capitals ended SRH’s campaign.
Will Mumbai win their sixth?
Mumbai Indias have the strongest squad on paper. Players like Rohit Sharma, Suryakumar Yadav, Tilak Verma, Hardik Pandya, and Jasprit Bumrah have already established themselves at the international circuit. This is probably the strongest core of Indian players in any team.
Despite all this, MI made a miserable start to this campaign. They lost four out of the opening five games. The team sitting at the bottom had some thinking to do. Jasprit Bumrah returned to the field after a long absence. This boosted their spirits and Mumbai are on a six-match winning streak. They only need a couple of wins in the remaining three matches.
According to the betting odds, Mumbai are the favourites to lift the trophy. They have odds of 15/8 to win their sixth IPL title.
Can RCB, PBKS & DC end their drought?
RCB, Punjab, and Delhi are the only teams from the inaugural season yet to win the IPL. All these teams have made it to the finals but haven’t tasted victory. This could be their season. These teams are still in the top half of the table.

Royal Challengers Bangalore are at the top of the table. They are looking like a confident side with both bat and ball. RCB could top the league table after 14 matches. They have the second-best odds of 11/4 to win the competition.
Northern Giants Aim High, But Form and Odds Tell Different Stories
Punjab Kings have thrived under the captaincy of Shreyas Iyer. They are sitting second in the league table. With already one step in the playoff, the team from North had odd of 17/4 to win this tournament.
Delhi Capitals also have their eyes on the title but their recent form has raised some concerns. Axar’s men were sitting comfortably at the top of the table. They lost three out of the last five games and that has slipped them to fifth in the league table.
Gujarat has a better chance of qualification than DC. Gill could lead his side to their second IPL title in three years. With odds of 9/2, GT have a better chance of winningthe IPL than Delhi Capitals.
