Giants’ batters fail to deliver
LSG is a dangerous side with the bat. Their top order has been in exceptional form. Mitchell Marsh and Aiden Markram have started the innings on a high. Nicholas Pooran has been the best batter in this tournament. He is the Orange Cap holder in this tournament. The middle order has been inconsistent but has delivered in a few matches.
This match saw CSK bowlers taking charge at the start of the innings. Markram fell in single digits and was followed by Pooran, who only added eight runs. Marsh tried to take charge but was not looking in his best form. He only made 30 runs in 25 deliveries.
Pant shines for the first time
Rishabh Pant has failed to deliver after a big move in the auction. This was his chance to shine. He played slowly and according to the situation. Badoni and Samad added some runs to the team’s total. Pant stood at the crease and took on the bowlers later in the innings. He scored 63 runs in 49 balls to take LSG to 166 for the loss of seven wickets. Jaddu and Pathirana added two wickets each.
CSK: New opening pair shines
CSK has struggled at the top of the innings. They have found it difficult to give their side a good start. Youngster Shaik Rasheed made his debut and was given the responsibility at the top along with Rachin. The duo added 52 runs for the first wicket. Rasheed played a decent knock of 27 runs.

More batting failures
After Rasheed, Ravindra fell on 74. The New Zealander added 37 runs to the team’s total. He showed some positive intent in this innings. His wicket allowed LSG bowlers. Ravi Bishnoi removed the out-of-form Rahul Tripathi. He followed this with Jaddu’s wicket. After a good start by CSK, LSG came back into the match. Soon, Digvesh removed Vijay Shankar. Shivam Dube was joined by MS Dhoni. CSK needed 56 in the last five overs.
MSD wins it at the end
Dhoni also came in with a lot of intent. Dube was playing well but was not hitting the ball easily. LSG bowlers had a good game plan against him. However, MSD was not going to stand and watch. He scored 26 runs in just 11 balls. CSK chased the target with three balls remaining. Dhoni was given the Man of the Match award and became the oldest player to receive it.
