India Made ODI Series Victory: Rohit’s Century Paved the Way
India continued their dominance against England in white ball. A T20 series win was followed by ODI series win. Rohit Sharma scored his 32nd ODI century to take the men in blue over the line against the mighty Englishman. India chased 300+ runs with four wickets to spare.
Virat Kohli returned to the team in place of Yashasvi Jaiswal. Kuldeep Yadav also gave way to Varun Chakaravarthy.
England put a massive total
Jos Buttler decided to bat first at the Barabati Stadium. The opening stand was a massive one of 81 runs in just over 10 overs. Ben Duckett was the aggressor between the two. The seamers failed to give a breakthrough and England was heading to a big score.
Varun Chakaravarthy took advantage of the opportunity in his ODI debut. He gave the first breakthrough just after the first powerplay. Ben Duckett continued to score and was dismissed for 65 runs.
Joe Root and Harry Brook created a 50-run stand. Brook has struggled throughout the tour and England needed their future star to score some runs. He played 52 balls and scored 31 runs. Brook struggled to score but this innings gave him a bit of idea about the conditions ahead of the ICC Champions Trophy. Root, on the other hand, added 69 runs to his total.
Jos Buttler and Liam Livingstone played some crucial knocks in the middle order. Buttler smashed 34 runs, while Livingstone scored 41 runs.

Indian bowlers struggled a bit to find wickets. Ravi Jadeja was once again the pick of the bowlers. He took three wickets for just 35 runs. The left-arm spinner never gave time for the batsman to settle. Shami, Rana, Hardik, and Varun chipped in with a wicket each.
England posted 304 runs on the board in 49.5 overs.
India: Rohit & Gill smash English bowlers
England batters like to take charge of the opposition bowlers. Indian batsman decided to give England the taste of their own medicine. Rohit Sharma has been struggling with the bat. However, this match was just the perfect setup for him to get back to form.
Both players created a 136-run stand for the first wicket. Rohit was the initial aggressor but Gill also picked up the pace. The youngster from Punjab scored 60 runs in 52 balls before giving his wicket to Jamie Overton. Rohit was still there at the crease and eyeing his 32nd ton.
Kohli struggles but the middle order seals the series
Virat Kohli’s return to white-ball cricket was short-lived as the batter got out cheaply on five runs. Adil Rashid once again troubled Kohli with his leg spin. A thin edge was caught by the keeper and Kohli had to walk back to the stands.
Shreyas Iyer joined the captain in the middle. He continued his good touch but allowed Rohit to do the hitting. Sharma scored 119 runs in just 90 balls. He smashed seven sixes before getting out.
Axar and Iyer added nearly 50 runs before Iyer was run out. KL Rahul and Hardik failed to take their team over the line as they both lost their wickets. Jaddu along with Axar sealed the match and the series for India.
