Kumar Kushagra strengthened India A position by scoring a crucial 42 that helped the team attain a large 349-run lead to defend.
Sai Sudharsan’s Lone Resistance for India C
When it was India C’s turn to bat, they faced a tough task. But Sai Sudharsan gave them hope with a stunning century, scoring 111 from 206 deliveries. His composed innings kept India C in the hunt for much of the final day. However, Sudharsan found little support from the other end, and wickets kept falling around him. Ishan Kishan and Abhishek Porel failed to make an impact, with Tanush Kotian and Prasidh Krishna orchestrating their dismissals and keeping the pressure on India C.

Turning Point: India A’s Bowling Magic
At tea, India C seemed to be staging a comeback, reaching 169/3. With 182 runs needed from the final session and Sudharsan anchoring the chase, the game was delicately poised. But India A’s bowlers had other plans. Kotian, in particular, was instrumental in breaking the momentum, dismissing Ishan Kishan (17), Abhishek Porel (0), and Pulkit Narang (6) in quick succession. His spell effectively dismantled India C’s middle order.
Prasidh Krishna also made his presence felt by taking important wickets at important stages. His figures of 3/50, included the prized wicket of Sudharsan, who might have turned the tide in the match. With Sudharsan back in the dugout the hopes for India C were crushed by Prasidh Krishna. Later he took another two wickets of Anshul Kamboj and Baba Indrajith without a run in the last over, which confirmed the win for India A.
Shams Mulani, who played alongside Kotian for Mumbai, chipped in by dismissing Manav Suthar, further contributing to India C’s collapse. Aaqib Khan played his part too, taking the wicket of Rajat Patidar, ensuring India A’s dominance throughout the final day.
India A: Well-Deserved Victory
In the end, India C managed to score just 217 runs in 81.5 overs. As a result, India A won the Duleep Trophy earning 12 points in three games, a victory that was earned. It amply demonstrated their tenacity, talent, and ability to work together as a unit since they came back from an early disadvantage to emerge victors. The bowling department, especially Kotian and Krishna’s exploits, was integral to the success while the batters laid a solid base with appropriate performances.
In the end, the well-rounded performance of India A in the entire tournament backed a convincing win for the team, thus, making this Duleep Trophy campaign one to remember.
