Chennai Super Kings vs Royal Challengers Bengaluru Preview

It will be Chennai Super Kings hosting the Royal Challengers Bengaluru in the opening game of Tata IPL 2024.

CSK on the one side is the most successful team of IPL who have won the title 5 times. RCB on the other side is the most popular IPL side because of the presence of superstar Virat Kohli in their side since 2008 but even after being the most popular side and having such a loyal fanbase, they have never reached the milestone of lifting the IPL trophy.

This year they will start their campaign against the defending champions CSK at their home ground MA Chidambaram Stadium. RCB has also made a change to their name Royal Challengers Bangalore to Royal Challengers Bengaluru. Only time will tell whether a name change will also bring a change in their fortune this year.

Last time in 2019 when both these played the opening game of IPL RCB were bowled out for just 70 runs and CSK won that game easily. Things have changed a lot since 2019 and both teams have made their progress. Both teams have played 31 times against each other CSK has managed to win 20 times whereas RCB has won 10 times only.

The pre-market odds are a bit in favor of CSK presently. The big reason for this could be the head-to-head record of both sides presently but CSK has lost their last 2 opening matches in previous seasons of IPL
