Bowler’s Dominance in the Batters Era at Nassau Stadium

The era that was being considered and dominated by the batters around the world has finally been taken over by the bowlers. Special thanks to the curator and pitch of Nassau Cricket Stadium in New York, which have brought the bowlers back into the game.
The batters who were seen scoring freely all around the world in the last few months have even struggled for singles in this World Cup. The 17th edition of the Indian Premier League witnessed some very high-scoring matches where teams scored totals of 287, 277, 272, etc. The batters came out swinging from the first ball and kept bowlers under the radar throughout the match, and cement-like pitches also helped them murder the bowlers.
But the tables have turned in this World Cup, and it’s the bowlers who are running the show. Nassau Stadium has produced three very low-scoring thrillers. In match 16, the Netherlands scored just 103 against South Africa and later managed to take the game to the 19th over, where Africa also lost 8 wickets. In the blockbuster clash on Sunday, India only managed 119 while batting, chasing 119. Pakistan fell short by 6 runs and lost the game. Yesterday, Bangladesh and South Africa played another low-scoring match where RSA were only able to score 113 runs and Bangladesh could not chase it and lost by 4 runs. In the fast-moving T-20 game, bowlers were seen having more than 4 fielders inside the 30-yard circle even after the powerplay because they were not able to find any timing throughout the inning.
While some consider the Nassau pitch not safe for players, real cricket fans are loving these battles where the bowlers are making it hard for the batters and they are forced to bat in a shell. Till now, the 200 run mark has only been touched once in the tournament by the Aussies against England in Bridgetown, Barbados. Apart from that, 197 and 194 are the second-best totals of this World Cup, which were made in the opener of the tournament played between the hosts USA and Canada.
Most of the games have been dominated by the bowlers until now. Nassau will host 2 more matches in the World Cup, and Pakistan will play its 3rd match here against Canada, which is a do-or-die situation for Pakistan. if they lose against Canada, they will be out of contention. On 12th, India will play the hosts USA here, so we can surely expect 2 more cracking encounters from the Nassau International Cricket Stadium.
After 2 more matches in Nassau and 4 in Florida, the caravan will completely move to the Caribbean Islands, where all the remaining matches, including all the knockout games, will be played. The batters might get a sense of relief there, as those venues and pitches are regularly used, and batters might get to swing their swords there.
