Indian Junior Hockey Teams Embark on Exciting European Tour

In the early hours of Saturday, the Indian Junior Men’s and Women’s Hockey Teams set off on an exciting tour of Europe. This tour promises to be a significant opportunity for both teams to gain invaluable experience and showcase their talents on an international stage.
The Indian Junior Women’s Hockey Team, led by Captain Jyoti Singh, has a packed schedule. They will begin their campaign against Bredase Hockey Vereniging Push on May 21st in Breda. Following this, they will face Belgium on May 22nd, also in Breda. The team will then travel to Antwerp for another match against Belgium on May 24th. Returning to Breda, they will play against Germany on May 26th. The next day, they head to Düsseldorf for a second match against Germany on May 27th. The tour will conclude with a match against Oranje-Rood on May 29th in Breda.
Captain Jyoti Singh expressed her excitement before embarking on the tour. “The team is raring to travel across Europe and face some of the toughest international youth teams along with some prominent European youth hockey clubs. This tour will provide us with invaluable match experience and help us understand our strengths and weaknesses. We have a few players who will be making their debut as well, and it is a great opportunity for them to showcase their skills against high-caliber opponents,” she said.
Similarly, the Indian Junior Men’s Hockey Team, under the leadership of Captain Rohit, has a challenging itinerary. They will kick off their tour against Belgium on May 20th in Antwerp. The reverse fixture against Belgium will be on May 22nd. The team will then play Bredase Hockey Vereniging Push on May 23rd in Breda. Following this, they will face Germany on May 28th in Mönchengladbach, and the tour will culminate with a final match against Germany on May 29th in Breda.
Captain Rohit shared his thoughts on the tour, stating, “The tour of Europe will be a great platform to test the results of our training in camp so far. Belgium, Bredase Hockey Vereniging Push, and Germany are formidable opponents, and it will be interesting to see how we square up against them. We will aim to maximize this exposure and win all our matches.”
