In this edition of the Indian Premier League Sunrisers Hyderabad have played a different brand of cricket. Their batters have continuously dominated the opposite teams. SRH has now scored 1st, 2nd, and 4th highest totals of the league in this season only. They scored 287 against RCB surpassing their previous best record of 277. Pat Cummins who is currently the best skipper to lead any side has again proved his mettle by winning 5 out of 7 games. Not just with his leadership he is also constant with the ball.
Travis Head is playing to his reputation of being destructive at the top of the order and taking the game away from the other team in the initial overs only. He is well supported by his partner Abhishek Sharma who is looking in the form of his life in this season. Sharma is striking the ball firmly in every inning. Both the openers are giving some fiery starts to their team. They scored 125 runs against DC which is now the highest total in the history of powerplay. Sharma and Head are backed by Markram and Klassen. Both protrea batters are proving to be very handy in the middle and are striking well which is helping SRH post such humongous totals. Abdul Samad, Nitish Reddy, and Shahbaz Ahmad all three are playing the supporting role pretty well. They are utilizing the opportunities they are getting. SRH who have kept their faith in SRH for years is finally delivering and playing the role of finisher well.
In the bowling unit which is led by the experienced Indian pacer, Bhuvi goes a bit unnoticed because of their batters but Bhuvi, Natrajan, and Cummins all three are doing an excellent job with the bowl. Natrajan has been exceptional with his yorkers the season which is recording some high totals Natrajan has been perfect with his yorkers. Even Mayank Markande who was not in the first 11 of any team since last year is playing as the main spinner and is doing the job nicely in the middle overs. He has got support from left-arm spinner Shahbaz Ahmad who is handy with the bat as well as the ball.
With the brand of Cricket SRH playing and all their boxes seeming to be ticked we can say it could well be their season to win the title for 3rd time. SRH won their last title in 2016 by defeating RCB in the final and in 2009 they won as Deccan Chargers defeating the same opponent. This year with the luck of Pat Cummins and the kind of combination they have got they can surely lift their 3rd title. Not to forget SRH has players like Glenn Philips, and Marco Jansen on their bench who are sitting on the bench.
