PSG Knock Out Liverpool from The UEFA Champions League 2024-25
PSG has eliminated Liverpool, the English Premier League leaders, from the UEFA Champions League. The French giants won the game at Anfield to advance to the last eight of the competition. Bayern Munich, Barcelona, and Inter Milan also booked their place in the last eight following their wins in a two-legged tie.
PSG Win: Dembele and Donnarumma heroes
Liverpool led the tie with a 1-0 win at the Parc des Princes. The French side had 10 attempts on target but were unable to beat Alisson in goal. Harvey Elliott scored the only goal of the match and that was Liverpool’s only shot on target. PSG’s domination meant that Liverpool had to play their best football at Anfield.
PSG took an early lead in the second leg. Ousmane Dembele scored in the 12th minute. Alisson was beaten for the first time in this tie. Both teams tried to score another goal but failed to do so. After an exciting 90 minutes and an extra 30 minutes, the match headed to a penalty shootout.

Vitinha scored the first penalty of the shootout. Salah leveled the score with a calm finish. Goncalo Ramos gave PSG the lead. Darwin Nunez stepped in next but was denied by Donnarumma. PSG led 2-1 after two penalties each.
Ousmane Dembele extended the lead with a cooly-taken penalty. Curtis Jones stepped up for Liverpool but missed his penalty. Desire Doue scored the fourth penalty to take PSG to the next round. Liverpool was at the top of the table in the league stage but had to face elimination in the Round of 16.
Bayern outclass German champions
Bayern Munich and Bayer Leverkusen faced each other in Europe for the first time. Kompany’s men had already put their one foot in the next round with a 3-0 win at home. They traveled to the Bay Arena for the second leg. Harry Kane and Alphonso Davies scored in the second half to take the tie 5-0. This was a dominant display by Munich against Xabi Alonso’s men. They are also leading the Bundesliga table. Harry Kane is also nearing his first major title of his career.

Inter sets up quarter-final tie with Bayern
Inter Milan have also made it to the last eight with an aggregate 4-1 win over Feyenoord. The Italian giants already led the tie 2-0. Marcus Thuram scored his second goal of the tie to give Inter the lead. Jakub Moder leveled the score from the spot for the Dutch side. Inter were also awarded a penalty in the second half. Hakan Calhanoglu scored from the spot to earn a win in the second leg. They will now face Bayern in the last eight of the competition.
Raphinha & Yamal knock out Benfica
Barcelona also booked their place in the last eight after a 3-1 win over Benfica in the second leg. Raphinha scored a brace and Lamine Yamal scored a spectacular goal to take his side into the next round. All four goals came in the first half of the match. Barcelona won the tie 4-1.
