The first two ODIs of the series were low scoring. Australia had the upper hand in both games. They chased the total in the first game and defended their total in the other. England players had no answers to Australia’s all-round performance. The third ODI was a chance for batsman to showcase their skills and here is how the teams played.
Australia women: Tough start
Alyssa Healy decided to bat at the Ninja Stadium. They were planning to put a big total on the board but England bowlers had some other plans. Phoebe Litchfield was the first player to get dismissed. Her struggles with the bat continued. Soon Ellyse Perry, Alyssa Healy, and Annabel Sutherland lost their wickets. Australia were 59 for four in 14.2 overs. England were looking confident in the final ODI.
Gardner’s century leads to Huge total
Beth Mooney was joined by Ashleigh Gardner in the middle. Both players started to rebuild the innings. The duo created a 95 run stand before Mooney gave her wicket. She added 50 runs to the team’s total.

Tahlia McGrath was the next player to enter the game. These two created a 103-run stand for the sixth wicket. Gardner completed her 100 before getting dismissed on 102. McGrath also added 55 runs to the total. Georgia Wareham has been good with the bat recently. She smashed 38 runs in just 12 balls and took the total to 308 runs for the loss of eight wickets.

Lauren Bell, Nat Sciver-Brunt, and Charlie Dean took two wickets each. Sophie Ecclestone was a bit expensive as she took one wicket for 76 runs.
Early blows, Beaumont’s steady start
The second innings began in a similar fashion. Maia Bouchier was dismissed in the first over on a duck. Heather Knight was the second dismissal and the team was left in a spot of bother on 29 runs.
Tamsin Beaumont was joined by Nat Sciver-Brunt. Both batters have a lot of experience and they added 89 runs for the third wicket. Beaumont scored 54 runs and Sciver-Brunt scored 61 runs. Both batters were bowled by Georgia Wareham. She brought her team back into the game.
Fiver for Alana King
Australia spinners were all over the middle order and lower order. After these two batters got out, Jones and Wyatt-Hodge added 30 and 35 runs each to the team’s total. They were looking good but Alana King had some other plans. She took five wickets, including the last four. King gave away 46 runs in 8.2 overs. She was all over the English batters and Australia comfortably won the third ODI by 86 runs.
Healy and her squad will now aim to win the T20I series and the only Test match.
