Chris Lynn: The Top Performer in the Big Bash League
Chris Lynn has been one of the top performers in the Big Bash League history. The 34-year-old power hitter is the leading run-scorer in this competition. However, he hasn’t enjoyed the last two or three seasons mainly due to injuries. The former Aussie opener has also moved from Brisbane Heat to Adelaide Strikers.
The Strikers were up against the Melbourne Renegades in the 20th match of the BBL season 14. Renegades have made a decent start to the ongoing campaign. They struggled a bit in the last two seasons but have bounced back in style. Strikers, on the other hand, are struggling to find their pace. With Matthew Short out, the Renegades were the favorites to take away the win.
Strikers with some early blows
Adelaide Strikers won the toss and chose to bowl first. They knew that the bowlers would get some help and took advantage of the situation. An early wicket and some good bowling restricted the batting side to 142 runs in their 20 overs.

Jake Fraser-McGurk once again got out cheaply. He is struggling to find form and is yet to play a good knock. Another batsman also struggled and only three players managed to get into double figures. Tim Seifert also got out cheaply. Jacob Bethell showed some positive signs but only made 21 runs.
Henry Thornton is having a good season. He added three wickets to his tally and was the best bowler of the night. Lloyd Pope and Jamie Overton added two wickets each for the away team. Boyce and Doggett were also among the wickets.

Josh Brown was the only player who carried the counter-attack against Strikers’ bowlers. The 31-year-old has performed decently across various T20 leagues. He was timing the ball well and scored 66 runs off 41 balls. The power hitter smashed six sixes in the innings. His 66 runs took the team to a respectable total.
Adelaide openers smash Renegades bowlers
Adelaide Strikers just needed above seven runs per over to chase down the target. They had a new opening pair in the form of Chris Lynn and D Arcy Short. Lynn had some other ideas and went after the bowlers. The team scored 37 runs in the first four overs and Lynn was the only contributor.
Lynn and Short created a 100-run partnership before Short got out. The left-hander scored 27 runs in that partnership. His wicket stopped the runs and turned a little bit of momentum in the bowler’s favor. Renegades took five wickets in the second innings. Adam Zampa and Thomas Rogers took two wickets each.
Chris Lynn show
Chris Lynn was on a different level at the Docklands Stadium. He scored 88 runs off just 51 balls before giving his wicket to Zampa. The 34-year-old from Brisbane smashed 10 fours and four sixes in the chase. The rest of the batters struggled but Lynn showed why he was one of the best in the business.
This win means that Adelaide Strikers remain in sixth place and the Renegades are just above them in fifth place.
