Sri Lanka makes historic Victory in England after 10 years
Sri Lanka team, under coach Sanath Jayasuriya, has started doing some wonders. Jayasuriya. He was one of the most destructive batters the game has ever seen, took charge as the head coach of the Sri Lankan cricket team. Since then, the team has started doing some miracles. They defeated the Star-Studded Indian team and now this Lankan unit has pulled off the highest chase by an Asian side in England and has managed to win a test match after a gap of 10 years.

After losing the first 2 Test matches against England, the Sri Lankan team was well under pressure. But their team was ready for the challenge in the 3rd and final test. The Lankan team on Monday achieved a milestone. Not only did they win the test match in England, but they also chased down one of the highest totals by an Asian team.

Previously it was Pakistan, who chased 180 in 2010 and 173 by India in 1971. The Sri Lankan was falling behind after the 1st innings by 62 runs. Nissankha, the architect of the historic win:
Chasing 219 Prathum Nissankha came out as the architect of the Sri Lankan win. He stood strong at one end and remained not out at 127. The most impressive part about his inning was the strike rate at which he scored 127 runs. He only took 124 balls to score these runs, which never really allowed England to come in the game. He gave them a taste of their own medicine.
Nissankha was well supported by Kusal Mendis, who also scored a quick 39 off 37 balls, and Matthews, who remained not out at 32. Sri Lanka easily chased down 219 in just the 40th over.

Nissankha was awarded Player of the Match for his valiant century. This was Sri Lanka’s 4th test match win against England, and this one came after a gap of 10 years. The previous victory was in Headingly in 2014. Although England won the test series 2-1, this test match victory would surely boost the confidence of the Sri Lankan side.
